One of four SEC teams to begin conference play 3-0, the Lady Vols will spend the next two games away from home, starting on Sunday at Texas A&M.
At Reed Arena in College Station, Tennessee (10-5, 3-0) and Texas A&M (13-3, 1-2) will square off at 5:02 p.m. Eastern (TV: ESPN). The SEC squad that the Lady Vols will play will once again want to dominate on defense.
“They pride themselves on their defensive side, so we’re going to have to work and understand that if it’s not easy for us offensively, we’ve got to figure it out,” Tennessee Coach Kellie Harper said. “I believe that’s what these first SEC games have allowed us to accomplish. Although it hasn’t always been attractive, we managed to figure it out and obtained enough points to prevail.
Not that it’s that easy, but when it comes down to it, we need to be able to make shots. We must be able to perform, and you must perform under pressure. We may expect them to pursue us. They’re going to make things really challenging. That’s just the way things are. It is for you to handle.
