Updates on the St. Louis Cardinals’ injuries as spring training draws closer by one month

 

 

Major League Baseball teams will begin spring training next month. As the teams approach reporting to Florida and Arizona, there will be updates on injuries, including those involving the St. Louis Cardinals.

As stated by MLB.com’s John Denton on Nolan Gorman:

Nolan Gorman, a lefty for the #STLCards, reported that he has been following a diet plan that has improved his flexibility and reduced inflammation in his back. Gorman hopes to stick to the regimen in order to play more games in 2024. Gorman has struggled with back problems after a weightlifting accident in 2020.

The 23-year-old slugger hit 27 home runs and drove in 76 runs while playing in 119 games for St. Louis in the previous season. He hit .236 overall with a .328 on-base percentage.

Jeff Jones on Tommy Edman:

Heading into camp, Edman feels he might be a little slow on the hitting side. following a progression. Despite not having made any bat-to-ball contact this winter—aside from wiffle balls during his rehabilitation—he anticipates being ready for opening day.
