Rankings of the transfer portal: Following the news of Caleb Downs, Alabama quarterback Julian Sayin moves ten of the finest players available.

Following the commitments of Alabama’s five-star safety Caleb Downs—rated as the No. 1 overall pick—and Iowa’s five-star offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor, Ohio State gained significant momentum through the transfer portal. After coaching changes at both programs, Julian Sayin, a five-star freshman quarterback, is among the many former Alabama and Washington players featured in the new best-available player rankings for the 2024 portal cycle. Downs and Proctor are no longer accessible.

Sayin, the top signal caller in the 2024 class, is the most recent player to leave the Alabama and Washington programs in large numbers following Nick Saban’s resignation last week, which caused a domino effect for a number of collegiate football schools. All players have a 30-day window during which they are free to use the transfer site following the departure of a coach.

Following this week’s rankings update, half of the top 10 players currently available on the transfer portal are from Alabama or Washington.
