LSU Football: Prospective Five-Star QB Shares College Choice

Early in January, LSU selected five-star signal-caller Bryce Underwood as its quarterback of the future, but before that choice, the program was considering another prospect.

George MacIntyre, a 5-star, is the target.

The product of Tennessee, who has visited Baton Rouge multiple times in recent months, developed into the quarterback Joe Sloan and the Tigers were pushing for.

Underwood or were the first and second plans for the Bayou Bengals.

It put an end to the Tigers’ hopes of obtaining MacIntyre after signing Underwood, but the five-star player has since pledged to the Tennessee Volunteers.

The final three universities on MacIntyre’s list were Tennessee, Alabama, and LSU. The top-2025 prospect will now stay at home and play for the Volunteers.

Regarding the purple and gold, the LSU football staff made ripples in the college football recruiting market early in January when they secured the commitment of five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood.
