Report: In an absurd three-team trade proposal, the Chicago Bears trade Justin Fields

It’s possible that the Chicago Bears are set to bench quarterback Justin Fields in favor of USC blue chip prospect Caleb Williams as their starting quarterback. For the second year in a row, the Bears hold the top overall pick in the NFL Draft and it is improbable that they will give up this advantageous position.

Cincinnati would select the Bears with the 49th overall pick in the current draft in the second round, and Cincinnati or Atlanta, whoever has the lowest pick, would select the team in the third round in 2025.

The Bengals will exchange this year’s No. 18 first round selection for the No. 8 pick selected by the Falcons.

Fields would be acquired by the Falcons from the Bears along with the Bengals’ first-round, No. 18 pick.

The thought that Fields would fetch less than a first-round draft pick in a possible trade is met with resistance from supporters and some members of the media. However, Carasik thinks the Chicago quarterback would never, ever give the Bears a first-round pick.
