Heupel visits a four-star wide receiver and plans to see the Vols once more.

Josh Heupel, the coach of Tennessee, visited St. Louis on Wednesday to inquire about the health of a wide receiver target who visited Knoxville twice in the previous season and is already scheduled to return to the Vols. Heupel made a trip to Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis, home of four-star wide receiver Corey Simms, a prominent prospect for the class of 2025.

After making his first trip to the University of Tennessee in June, the 6-foot-3, 192-pound Simms received a scholarship offer from the Vols after putting on a solid show at one of their camps. On September 30, he came back to Knoxville to watch the Vols defeat South Carolina.

According to his statement on Thursday, he “will be back in Tennessee this spring.” In the upcoming months, he noted, he expects to be hosted by the Vols and Missouri on formal visits.

Simms, who has offers from over thirty universities, shared a photo of himself with Heupel on his X account on Thursday. He expressed his gratitude to Heupel and the Vols for “making me (a) priority.”

Josh Heupel, the coach of Tennessee, visited the Kansas City region on Wednesday to meet a highly-regarded edge rusher and a desired offensive-line prospect who is scheduled to visit the Vols shortly. One of them, at the very least, intends to visit Knoxville shortly.
