Several Cardinals have been left off of MLB Pipeline’s 2024 Top 100 Prospect list.

In order to return to their winning ways, the St. Louis Cardinals are counting on a large number of young players as they prepare for a rebound season in 2024. Although the Cardinals are thought to have five or six top 100 prospects in baseball by several scouting services, MLB Pipeline’s 2024 list only included three Cardinals overall when it was released.

Not unexpectedly, the Cardinals selected SS Masyn Winn as their top prospect in their system, and he ranked 43rd on their top 100. Tekoah Roby and Tink Hence, two RHPs, were ranked 64th and 99th, respectively.

The two most prominent individuals left off of this list are 2B Victor Scott II and OF Victor Scott II. Saggese Thomas. With his growth at the plate, 94 stolen bases, and minor league Gold Glove award, Scott had a tremendous 2023. Saggese was nearly unstoppable at the plate and won the Texas League Most Valuable Player title. He joined Roby from the Rangers in the Jordan Montgomery/Chris Stratton transaction. In an executive survey conducted by MLB Pipeline

It’s shocking that Scott and Saggese aren’t on this list because they were on every other national prospect list that investors rely on. Though prospect lists are ultimately just lists, it’s noteworthy that MLB Pipeline did not rank the two players among the top 100.

In 2024, Scott and Saggese will probably both make their MLB debuts; however, based on how long it takes for them to do so, they may climb the rankings if they have excellent beginnings to the season.
