Super Bowl LVIII: Halftime show, teams, odds, and start time

In Super Bowl LVIII, the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the San Francisco 49ers. In the AFC Championship game, the Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens 17-10, and in the NFC title game, the 49ers overcame a 17-point deficit to upset the Detroit Lions 34-31.

From Sam Farmer: The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will square off in a Las Vegas Super Bowl LIV. That is a Super Bowl rematch from four years prior, when the Chiefs defeated the 49ers in Miami by rallying from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter.

Patrick Mahomes, the two-time MVP, received his first of two Lombardi Trophies with that. “Mr. Irrelevant” Brock Purdy, the final pick in the 2022 NFL draft, plays quarterback for the 49ers.

Andy Reid, the coach of the Chiefs, is a member of the Mike Holmgren coaching line and was never an assistant coach for the 49ers. He did, however, coach at San Francisco State.

From 2018 to 2021, San Francisco cornerback Charvarius Ward was a member of the Chiefs. The 49ers haven’t won a Super Bowl since defeating the San Diego Chargers in 1994, but the Chiefs have the opportunity to become the first team to win back-to-back titles since the New England Patriots in 2003–04.
