Sam Spiegelman of On3 reported during an update from the Battle Miami 7-on-7 tournament that quarterback Faizon Brandon of Grimsley High School will be visiting Knoxville, Tennessee, this weekend to watch the Vols. This will be Brandon’s fourth visit to Tennessee, and the coaching staff is familiar with him.

This month, Brandon has traveled to North Carolina and Duke, and Tennessee has never ceased to make him feel important. He received an offer from Tennessee during a summer cap, and he went to the Georgia and Texas A&M games at Neyland Stadium this year. The 13-1 club that lost in the state playoff quarterfinals saw the gifted rising junior throw for 3,026 yards. In his second year, Brandon tallied 45 touchdowns against just three interceptions. After witnessing the Vols fall to Georgia, Brandon said, “It was great; this is my third time at Tennessee, and every time I go, the coaches make me feel like a priority.” Many believed that the Vols’ four-touchdown loss to Georgia would damage their chances.
That was not Brandon’s interpretation. “I would say how when they lost, the coaches still kept their composure and didn’t put the players down and just stayed positive after that.” A visit’s main activity should include a conversation with the staff. “I talked to Coach Mitch [Militello], and he was just telling me how there were some things they could work on and how he has seen Joe Milton grow a lot as a QB and mature to handle that game like he did,” Brandon said in reference to his experience speaking with the staff.
