NFL Salute to Service Award finalist is a Packers running back.

NEW YORK (WSAW) – The 13th annual Salute to Service Award, sponsored by USAA, has announced the finalists: Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones; San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle; and New England Patriots long snapper Joe Cardona. The NFL and USAA are official NFL Salute to Service partners.

The NFL and USAA are dedicated to connecting, empowering, and honoring our country’s veterans, military members, and their families throughout the year. One aspect of this commitment is the Salute to military Award. Every year, one nominee from each of the 32 teams’ respective organizations is chosen. This person can be any combination of current or former players, coaches, executives, or staff members who have best shown support for the military community.

The NFL Honors will honor the recipient of the Salute to Service Award.

On Thursday, February 8 in Las Vegas, the NFL Honors, which will stream on Paramount+ and NFL+ and telecast nationally on CBS and NFL Network, will honor the recipient of the Salute to Service Award.

“With two players whose families have served and one who is serving our country right now among this season’s finalists for the USAA Salute to Service Award, each of them has made it their personal mission to give back by supporting our military community during their time in the NFL,” stated Major General (Ret.) Bob Whittle, Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff of USAA. “George, Aaron, and Joe deserve recognition from USAA for going above and above to support our armed forces, veterans, and their families.

Jones has dedicated a particular portion of his community involvement to helping active-duty military personnel and veterans, having grown up with both of his parents serving in the U.S. Army. Jones is aware of the sacrifices that come with serving in the armed forces.

Former three-time Super Bowl champion and Salute to Service Award panelist Chad Hennings stated, “Each nominee displays the qualities of sacrifice, service, and integrity which serves as the cornerstone of this award.” “Joe Cardona, George Kittle, and Aaron Jones should be proud of this achievement because they are all living examples of what it means to serve their communities, organizations, and countries.”
