Football at Alabama: Kalen DeBoer’s candid assessment on maintaining standards following Nick Saban’s retirement

Without Nick Saban on the sidelines, the Alabama football team will have a slightly different appearance the next season. Following the season, the renowned Crimson Tide head coach made the decision to retire; Kalen DeBoer is the new head coach at Alabama. He recently led Washington football to the national championship game; now he hopes to repeat that feat with the Crimson Time.

As the head coach of the Alabama football team, Kalen DeBoer will be under a lot of pressure. He is following one of the greatest college football coaches in history, and his fan base expects nothing less than the best. He wants to be able to maintain the standards as they are since he is aware that Saban is unique.

In a video that Simone Eli uploaded on Twitter, DeBoer stated, “I think that you still hold the standards that are in place and the expectations are certainly aligned with what I want to do and what’s happening here in this program for a long time now under coach Saban.” However, I believe that everyone is aware that there is only one coach, Nick Saban, and that there are various approaches to success. All of the customs and unique elements that have made this location unique will be something we strive to preserve. However, as far as our offensive and defensive strategies go, everyone will leave their mark, including myself as the head coach.
