
Late on Wednesday night, the Gophers expanded their quarterback room by adding a fourth arm.
This September, the program will welcome Jeremiah Finaly, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound quarterback from Los Alamitos, California. finally declared on social media that he will be a preferred walk-on at the University of Minnesota.
Finaly passed for 1,625 yards with 18 touchdowns and five interceptions during the previous high school football season. It was his first year on the varsity team as the starting quarterback.
Finaly is the 200th-ranked quarterback in the country in the Class of 2024 and is classified as a two-star recruit by 247Sports.
He’ll be joining a newly renovated Gophers quarterback room for the next season.
After starting every Minnesota regular season game in 2023, Athan Kaliakmanis departed for Rutgers in December. Max Brosmer, a former quarterback for the University of New Hampshire who played three successful seasons in the FCS, transferred to the U and is expected to start for Minnesota in 2024.
As a true freshman, highly anticipated rookie QB Drake Lindsey—who was recently named the Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year—could be the backup, and 2023 redshirt freshman Max Shikenjanski might be the third-string quarterback.
