SPORTS: National 16, American 7, Reese’s Senior Bowl 75th edition

During the last two American drives, Stanford’s Joshua Karty kicked three field goals and Washington State cornerback Chau Smith-Wade intercepted passes, allowing the National team to win 16–7 at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile. This was the 75th annual Reese’s Senior Bowl.

On its first series, the American side scored on a 29-yard touchdown pass from Georgia wide receiver Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint to South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler. However, the Americans were never able to get past seven points as they lost a fumble, had three passes intercepted the remainder of the way, and had Alabama kicker Will Reichard’s 57-yard field goal try strike the right upright.

With 1:53 remaining in the first quarter, Oregon quarterback Bo Nix—a former star player at Auburn and Pinson Valley High School—threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Minnesota tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford to tie the score. In the second half, Karty finished off the scoring with field goals from 37, 52, and 19 yards.
