Report: Brook Park is an Alternative Stadium Site Being Considered.

There was a post from NEOtransB on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) on Thursday reporting the Haslams Sports Group has a contract to buy 176 acres in Brook Park. The Haslams Sports Group is owned by Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam. The land is a couple of miles from the team’s headquarters in Berea. The Browns have bought surrounding houses and properties near the team’s headquarters, as well, in the last couple of years.

The Browns have said they will continue to work with the city of Cleveland and keeping the stadium on the lakefront remains is still a serious option. The Browns have a lease at the current site on the lakefront through the 2028 season.

“We’ve been clear on how complex future stadium planning can be,” a statement from the Browns/Haslam Sports Group was released on Thursday. “One thing is for sure: we’re going to do everything in our power to make the fan experience even better while also making a positive, long-lasting difference for the whole Northeast Ohio region. We are carefully examining every option because we recognize the enormous potential that a stadium project holds to attract additional major events to our area.
