Cleveland Browns Centers and Guards Analysis, Breakdown, and Prospects: Will the Browns Keep Their Three Stars in 2024?

The Cleveland Browns were predicted by most NFL experts to have one of the league’s top offensive lines going into the 2023 campaign. Previously, four of the five starters had either been selected to the Pro Bowl or the All-Pro team.

Joel Bitonio and Wyatt Teller, the starting guards for the Browns in 2022, both earned Pro Bowl selections and contract extensions. Center Ethan Pocic agreed to a $18 million, three-year contract deal.

In 2023, Bitonio and Teller were once again chosen for the Pro Bowl. Bitonio was selected for the sixth time in a row, but he was unable to go since he was still recovering from season-ending injury. Paradoxically, Teller took Bitonio’s spot as the AFC team’s backup.
Joel Bitonio (6-4, 320, Nevada, 10th year) Bitonio, 32, was selected for his sixth consecutive Pro Bowl. In 2023, Bitonio persevered through multiple injuries and missed two games. During the week off, he had a scope applied to his knee. Bitonio has a contract that expires in 2024 and has a $12.135 million salary cap.

Wyatt Teller (6-4, 315, Virginia Tech, 6th year) Teller, 29, participated in all 17 games and, as an alternate replacement, was selected to the Pro Bowl for the third time following the season. During the 2021 season, Teller inked a long-term contract extension. Teller has a contract that specifies a $11.61 million salary cap for 2024.

Michael Dunn (6-5, 315, Maryland, fourth year) Dunn, 29, was the backup center and substituted as a guard.

Nick Harris (6-1, 293, Washington, fourth year) At the end of the season, Harris, 25, was named as the starting fullback. The Browns selected him in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Harris is not restricted.

Drew Forbes, a fourth-year student at Southeast Missouri State (6-5, 308) The entire season, Forbes, 27, was placed on the reserve/non-football illness list. Forbes has a $1.225 million salary cap under contract through 2024.

Ethan Pocic, sixth-year LSU student (6-6, 320) — Last summer, Pocic, 28, inked a three-year, $18 million contract extension. Due to an injury, Pocic was forced to miss two games in 2023 but started the remaining fifteen, including the playoff game. Pocic has a $3.964 million salary cap under contract through 2024.
