Lakers Reportedly Considered Drafting Bronny James In Order To Lure LeBron In Free Agency
It’s possible that LeBron James will become a free agent after the 2023–24 NBA season.
Despite the Los Angeles Lakers’ recent struggles, James—who is 39 years old—remains one of the best players in the league.
Teams are lining up to sign James in the offseason in light of this. But they could also have to pick his son Bronny in order to do this.
At USC, Bronny James is a freshman. He had a serious heart collapse before the season, though, and has had trouble adjusting to life with the Trojans. Despite shooting just 27.1 percent from outside the arc, the younger James is only averaging 5.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game for USC.
Notably, though, Stein did not identify the two clubs in question. The Miami Heat and New York Knicks are the teams most people believe are vying for his signature.
It’s interesting to note that Stein also links the Lakers to a different action. According to him, LA may become a player if the Hawks deal for All-Star guard Trae Young.
