Being at home is a satisfying feeling, especially for Boston Celtics. The NBA Power Rankings once again have the best team in the league at the top, owing to a flawless week and a few mistakes made by teams below. The Minnesota Timberwolves are right behind Boston after enjoying two of their most spectacular victories of the year, but this week’s biggest talking points come from two other Western Conference clubs.
The Dallas Mavericks have won five straight, including four this week. The squad seems to be energized by the addition of PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford at the trade deadline, maybe in addition to Grant Williams’ departure. They rose eight spots to No. 7, making them the highest climbers of the week.
The Golden State Warriors, who have won seven straight games and appear to be an entirely different club than the one that was in terrible difficulties only a few weeks ago, are another hot team making huge moves. Thanks to a redesigned defense, some Draymond Green showmanship, and more heroics from Stephen Curry—whose incredible game-winning basket against the Suns is legendary—they jumped up five spots to No. 14.
