Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks scored 35 points on Thursday night, but it was insufficient as they lost to the Memphis Grizzlies 113-110.The Bucks trailed for most of the second half after the game was knotted at the half, until Antetokounmpo went on a six-point run in the final minutes of play.
But the Bucks were unable to rally as the Grizzlies took the lead again with less than three minutes remaining.
Despite hitting 15 of his 17 field goals and recording his 43rd double-double of the year with 35 points and 12 assists, Antetokounmpo’s performance was insufficient to help the Bucks win.
The Bucks, who fell to the Miami Heat on Wednesday, have now lost two straight games and have a 3-7 record in their previous ten games.
Following the victory, GG Jackson and Ziaire Williams of the Grizzlies both scored 27 points. Williams commented, “It feels good, proud of this team.” Every game, we’ve been fighting with all of our might. It’s encouraging to observe.
“One man trips and falls, and another gets up. It’s just enjoyable for us.”
Doc Rivers, the coach of the Bucks, was not pleased with his team’s performance.
He stated: “We had some guys here, and some guys in Cabo [Mexican beach destination].”
On Thursday night, Klay Thompson scored a career-high 35 points off the bench as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Utah Jazz 140-137.
For the first time since 2012, Thompson was a reserve, and on a night that will never be forgotten, the 34-year-old made seven three-pointers.
After the game, he stated, “You can do two things: You can go out there and respond, or you can pout.”
Though Thompson was only averaging 17 points per game this season, coach Steve Kerr was impressed with his play.
“It’s been a challenging season for both him and us,” Golden State coach Kerr said after his 500th victory.
