Wide receiver Mike Evans is the greatest receiver (by far) expected to hit the open market now that it appears Cincinnati will franchise Tee Higgins, and the Colts are likely to do the same with Michael Pittman Jr. following his 109-catch season.
And Evans’ suitors may have grown after the NFL announced a significant increase in the pay cap for 2024.
Matt Verderame of SI.com identified five teams who he expects would contact Evans’ agent in the near future if the Bucs do not re-sign Evans before the free agency dinner bell sounds. Carolina, Indianapolis (previously the Belicheats), the New York Giants, and Tennessee are among these clubs.
It appeared that Tennessee was a prime target for Higgins.
