Are the 49ers special teams getting better or worse? We reviseJake MoodyHe’s not the worst kicker in the league, and he’s still young, so he can get better, but he’s too inconsistent to be a Super Bowl contender like the 49ers. He had a no-hitter in all three playoff games, which is unacceptable. And he definitely has a strong leg, which is awesome.
But the 49ers don’t need many long field goals because they have an elite offense. They need a hitter who is automatic on short shots, but Moody is not that. He missed the extra point in a spectacular Super Bowl. The 49ers need to cut him so he can sign with a team that is playing for nothing so he never gets pressured. Then the 49ers should sign a kicker with playoff experience.
Maybe they can convince Robbie Gould to retire.Quick stock.Mitch WishnowskyOne of the best players in the league. The 49ers offense is so good in the regular season that it rarely punts, but Wishnowsky was able to catch 20 of his 52 drives inside the opponent’s 20-yard line, which is very impressive. He also ran for the first time this season when he decided to fake a punt himself. 49ers should let him run more often.
Equipment.Taybor PepperOne of the best long snappers in the league, plus he knows sign language which is nice.Stock.Ray Ray McCloud \ n Fair catch specialist who tried to bounce and run instead of falling with the ball in the Super Bowl. As a result, he allowed the Chiefs to recover.Stock.
