Following the announcement of the franchise tag, Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor has made a strong statement about wide receiver Tee Higgins.
Up until today, the Cincinnati Bengals have made possibly the most significant announcement surrounding their franchise tag. They officially confirmed this morning that WR Tee Higgins would be assigned a franchise tag. Soon after the announcement, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor made a critical assessment of Higgins.
Zac Taylor is pleased that he kept Tee Higgins.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Taylor had nothing but positive comments when the Bengals issued their franchise tag. Taylor claimed that Higgins plays an important role in their offensive approach. These were the exact words he spoke.
Higgins will return to the Cincinnati Bengals in 2024, which is a positive development for Taylor. Higgins concluded the season with only 12 games, 656 receiving yards, and five touchdown receptions.
The Bengals will now attempt to win it back in 2024. With this core bunch, Cincinnati appears to be bent on winning everything for at least one more season, assuming quarterback Joe Burrow remains healthy. Burrow’s wrist issue ruled him out.
