WWE finds Vince McMahon’s replacement after sex trafficking charges.

NEW DELHI: Following recent sexual misconduct and trafficking charges against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE, Vince McMahon has cut all relations with both World Wrestling Entertainment and the TKO Group.
McMahon’s resignation has resulted in a substantial shakeup in TKO board leadership, with Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel taking over as Executive Chair and Steve Koonin serving as Lead Independent Director.

In 2022, Vince McMahon resigned as WWE’s CEO and head of creative due to sexual misconduct claims. However, he returned to the company briefly to negotiate its sale to Endeavor Group. Following the sale, McMahon joined the TKO board. Janel Grant’s recent lawsuit has caused McMahon to resign from World Wrestling Entertainment and the TKO Group.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) document, which accompanied the company’s annual business report, highlighted TKO Group’s leadership changes. According to the filing, “On February 22, 2024, following Vincent McMahon’s resignation from the position of Executive Chairman of the Board in January 2024, the Board appointed Ariel Emanuel, the Company’s CEO, as Executive Chairman of the Board.” In addition, the independent directors of the Board established the post of Lead Independent Director and chose Steven R. Koonin to fill it. Both appointments are effective as of February 22, 2024.”
Ari Emanuel, best known as the CEO of Endeavor Group, brings extensive experience to his new post as Executive Chair of the TKO Board.
