Wally Lewis’ message to Panthers during Adam Reynolds’ re-signing with the Broncos.

NRL 2021: Adam Reynolds determined to ...

Broncos star Wally Lewis has sent a warning to the Penrith Panthers after Adam Reynolds signed a contract extension with the club in a major move ahead of the season. In recent months, supporters have debated whether the Broncos should extend the 33-year-old’s NRL contract into the 2025 season.
Reynolds helped lead the Broncos to the NRL final, but they were defeated in a nail-biting game against the Panthers. The halfback was outstanding all season, guiding a youthful club to become legitimate title challengers for years to come.

Many NRL supporters believed the club was straining its salary cap to extend the veteran’s contract until the end of 2025. Although Maroons and Brisbane Broncos legend Lewis has lavished Reynolds with accolades since the signing was announced on Monday.

Lewis added that the deal will only help drive Reynolds heading into the 2024 season, when the Broncos hope to break the Panthers’ stronghold on the competition. “He’s a key player, Reynolds,” Lewis told AAP. “It was critical that they kept him because his leadership motivates the younger players on the club.
