The Rock appeared on Friday Night SmackDown in Glendale this week to respond to Cody Rhodes’ challenge for a singles bout between the two. You may not be surprised to find that he did not accept the challenge.
Instead, as a good businessman, he made a counter-offer.
That counter-offer: The Rock and Roman Reigns face Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins on the first night of WrestleMania 40 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also wants stipulations.
If Cody and Seth win, Rhodes will have the opportunity to conclude his story without interruption from The Bloodline. The whole bunch will be banished from ringside.
However, if Rock and Reigns win, the WWE Universal belt battle will be a “Bloodline rules” match, which means anything goes and the group can and will ensure Roman retains his belt.
There you have it: The Rock will be wrestling during the show, and the other three will be doing double duty.
They presented this as a challenge, and Cody will have to react next week, but it’s apparent where we’re going.
