According to reports, Taylan May, Mitch Kenny, and Sunia Turuva will all be re-signed by the Penrith Panthers in the upcoming weeks.
Under the NRLโs contract regulations, other teams have been permitted to talk with the three players since November 1 of last year, making them among the biggest players still without a contract at the club.
None, though, have announced plans to relocate in the upcoming year.
Because the May brothers want to play together, Taylan May was thought to have the best chance of ending up at a new club in 2025 out of the three.
Earlier this year, Terrell May, who is now making waves in the front row at the Sydney Roosters, stated that the brothers would sign with any team that could offer them theย chance to play together.
However, it now seems that the only way that will happen is if Terrell decides to join the Panthers, which is not looking likely. Panthers general manager Matt Cameron confirmed the team was โdeep in negotiationsโ with the trio at a corporate function, according to Nathan Taylor of The Western Weekender.
Itโs anticipated that in the upcoming weeks, May, Kenny, and Turuvaโs futures may be revealed.
Even though May was probably going to depart, itโs safe to say that other teams have enquired about both star young winger Turuva and dummy half Kenny, who both want to play fullback in the NRL.
Though both are a part of Penrithโs extraordinary local talent pool, which has helped the team win three premierships and a grand final in the last four years, keeping them atop the NRL.
When Apisai Koroisau left for the Wests Tigers, Kenny was a part of the teamโs plan to replace him. Turuva and May have also been involved in the clubโs efforts to replace outgoing outside backs. This season, May is getting ready to move from the wing to the center as he recovers from an ACL injury. He will be replacing Stephen Crichton, who left to play fullback for the Canterbury Bulldogs.
While Penrith has previously acknowledged that they will need to let go of players in order to maintain the system, they have already done so for 2025, as Jarome Luai signed a lucrative contract to join the Wests Tigers. This year, they have lost a number of players, including Crichton, as well as forwards Spencer Leniu, Jaeman Salmon, and Zac Hosking, as well as young outside back Tom Jenkins.
