2025 five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. (Charlotte, N.C.) cut his focus to six schools on Saturday, including the Tennessee Volunteers.

For those who are regularly following Tennessee recruitment, there is no need to introduce Providence Day School offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. For a variety of reasons, the Vols’ top target in the 2025 class is the No. 2 overall talent, as determined by the 247Sports Composite Rankings. They are still working on his recruiting, which received a significant development on Saturday.

Sanders narrowed down his selection to Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Ohio State, South Carolina, and Clemson. All three of the teams that are still in the running for the top spot, Tennessee, Georgia, and Clemson, will most likely get official visits this summer. Before traveling to Rocky Top for business, Sanders intends to make an unofficial visit to Knoxville, Tennessee, in March.

George MacIntyre, the quarterback for Brentwood Academy, gets involved in this fight. Neither Clemson nor Georgia have a quarterback committed for the 2025 cycle, and neither will sign a quarterback of MacIntyre’s caliber unless the Bulldogs can flip USC commit Julian Lewis. During recruiting travels to Alabama and Tennessee, Sanders and MacIntyre became friends, and they have remained friends ever since. Sanders is expected to make a choice in the summer, so these forthcoming travels are quite important for both sides. Glen Elarbee, the offensive line coach at Tennessee, has done an excellent job laying the stage and bringing in offensive lineman of the national caliber.
