Despite Jaylen Brown’s brilliant 41-point performance, the Boston Celtics fell brief in their comeback try against the defending champions, the Denver Nuggets.
Celtics coming up short
Their efforts weren’t ample as they suffered a 115-109 loss on Thursday night in Denver.
Brown’s offensive performance for Boston towards the Nuggets was once pretty unusual. He proved relentless in attacking the rim, leaving the Nuggets struggling to incorporate him as he linked on sixteen of 29 shots.
However, the Celtics shield struggled from the stripe, managing to convert solely 7 of 14 attempts.
“I obtained up there and shot it, I felt in rhythm,” Brown said of his free throw shooting, with the aid of Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe. “Sometimes it’s a little short, maybe the elevation, however I felt high-quality shooting the ball…I’ll be better.”
“Just too many mistakes,” Brown continued. “Against a true team, we received to take advantage. Turnovers, free throws, just lacking the shielding assignments, all of that stuff, we obtained to be higher at.”
The Celtics had a risk to steal one at Denver, despite Jayson Tatum’s bad showing.
Tatum’s performance was once a long way from his ordinary standard, as he struggled to discover his rhythm at some stage in the game, managing to rating only 15 factors on 5-of-13 shooting, committing 5 turnovers in the process.
