follows a game in April 2023 versus the Miami Marlins, where numerous fans threw food at each other, resulting
in multiple ejections, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Another Dollar Dog Night event against the Mariners
at Citizens Bank Park in April of last year caused a short delay as spectators threw hot dogs onto the field.
Fans may now purchase one hot dog at concession booths for $5 and receive the second one free on the days of
the updated deal, which are both scheduled for April. Additionally, each transaction will have a cap of four hot
dogs purchased, with the possibility of taking away eight in total.
Look, a $5 hot dog is still a terrific value, but it’s unfortunate that a few diehard supporters mar it for the rest of
us. This program was open to all demographics and is no longer available in an age of rapidly increasing ticket
costs and concession expenses. The Phillies’ game against the Cincinnati Reds on April 2nd at 6:40 p.m. ET will
mark the first new hot dog promotion night. The Colorado Rockies will be the opponent on April 16.
