Panthers winger Brian Toโ€™o has capped a premiership-winning performance by proposing to his partner Moesha Crichton-Ropati moments after the full-time siren in Sundayโ€™s grand final at Suncorp Stadium.

Toโ€™o, who was at his metre-eating best with 238 metres in theย gripping 14-12 win, walked over to the sideline and got down on one knee for the heart-warming celebration.

They received a rousing roar from the nearby fans when Moesha said yes, adding a very different flavour to Penrithโ€™s post-game celebrations.

โ€œFirst of all, I want to give all the glory to God, what a year itโ€™s been for not only myself but for my community as well,โ€ Toโ€™o told Channel Nine.

โ€œI want to thank my beautiful partner for saying yes and also for the boys for getting us the win. Iโ€™m just grateful to be here and so lucky.ย

โ€œIโ€™m really speechless, not only because of the year Iโ€™ve had with Origin but also now to finish the year with a ring.

โ€œItโ€™s a special moment to have with not only my partner but my family in lockdown as well. Iโ€™m really happy.โ€

Moesha said she had no idea Toโ€™o would get down on one knee and ask for her hand in marriage.

Moesha, who moved to Queensland with Toโ€™o following the Origin series as part of Penrithโ€™s family entourage, was just as humble about her partnerโ€™s achievements.

โ€œI thought he was coming over to give me a hug like he usually does, I wasnโ€™t expecting that, not at all,โ€ she said.ย

โ€œIโ€™m really close with my parents and it was 50-50 to come up here. I wanted to be with Brian but also wanted to be with my parents at the same time.

โ€œI thank God, if it wasnโ€™t for him, none of this wouldโ€™ve happened. Being here with each other made it even better.โ€
