The Tennessee Titans made a significant splash to kick off the NFL’s free-agency period on Wednesday, striking a deal with wide receiver Calvin Ridley for a lucrative four-year, $92 million contract.

This acquisition of the former Alabama standout will provide second-year quarterback Will Levis with a formidable duo of 1,000-yard receivers for the upcoming 2024 season.

In 2023, DeAndre Hopkins led the Titans with 75 receptions for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns, while Ridley, playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars, racked up 76 receptions for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns. Ridley achieved these numbers after sitting out the 2022 season due to an NFL suspension.

Ridley’s suspension stemmed from his involvement in betting on league games, which led to his indefinite suspension on March 7, 2022. He was reinstated a year later, on March 6, 2023.

Originally a first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Ridley showcased his talent by recording 63 receptions for 967 yards and five touchdowns during Alabama’s CFP national-championship-winning season in 2017. Throughout his NFL career, spanning 66 regular-season games, he has amassed 324 receptions for 4,358 yards and 36 touchdowns.
