Has the break come at a good time for Rangers? - YouTube

Kemar Roofe has stated that he wants to stay at Ibrox, but Chris Jack believes it is unlikely that the striker would receive a new contract offer from Rangers.

The writer for Rangers Review expressed his opinion that, considering his injury history and the associated danger, the team is unable to offer him a new contract.
This occurs after Roofe told the press that he intended to remain with the Rangers past this season, but he acknowledged that Philippe Clement and the administration would ultimately make the final call.

Jack stated on The Rangers Review [March 18]: “A new deal isn’t on the table for me. The Rangers just can’t afford to take that chance, in my opinion.

We know what Kemar Roofe can offer to the team, so not only this season but prior seasons as well, you can guarantee a certain number of goals if you can guarantee his games, but you just can’t.
The Rangers just cannot afford to take any kind of a chance on him in the upcoming season. If he continued on a one-year contract, I’d be shocked; otherwise, you could be looking at two. Simply said, the value for the money is lacking.

Might Kemar Roofe receive a new deal from Rangers?
As Jack mentioned, Roofe is undoubtedly capable of scoring goals when healthy. There’s no guarantee he’ll stay fit for very long, though, considering his long list of injuries sustained when he was in Glasgow.

In recent transfer windows, a new striker has also been one of Ibrox’s top transfer objectives; letting Roofe go for free would free up his salary to be put toward other ventures.

The move has been strongly connected to players like Lawrence Shankland, and Rangers may be able to complete a deal that would otherwise be challenging if wages are released before the summer transfer market opens.
