Executive director of the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in Little Rock, Arkansas, Bryan Malinowski passed away on Thursday morning following a gunshot wound he received at his residence as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (AFT) carried out the execution of a federal search warrant.
A statement from the Arkansas State Police stated that the ATF showed up at Mr. Malinowski’s Little Rock residence at approximately six in the morning.
Local media KARK Television was informed by federal authorities that Mr. Malinowski opened fire from inside the house before agents returned fire, striking him several times.
Paramedics treated 53-year-old Mr. Malinowski on the spot before he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was put on life support and eventually passed away.
ATF agent had a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening.
The way the ATF raided him was not appropriate. Matt Malinowski, the oldest brother, told KARK that you don’t send a full group of individuals with high-armed guns as they did at 6:00 in the morning. Grab him at the office! He reports for duty each day. He is a well-known individual.
The Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission chair, Bill Walker, made the announcement of Mr. Malinowski’s passing in a statement.
We regret to inform you of Bryan Malinowski’s passing as our executive director. Bryan has worked at the airport for sixteen years. Our airport has grown significantly and been successful under his direction, providing our community and the state with more services and options. We send our deepest sympathies to Bryan’s wife Maer, as well as to her family and friends.
