Given the recent trade of quarterback Justin Fields, the Chicago Bears’ decision on their first-round selection is clear. The Bears do, however, also own the ninth pick in the NFL Draft in 2024. The general consensus is that they will either trade down to get further draft picks or remain at nine and select the best player available.
It makes sense in terms of trading down. The Bears have just four picks in the 2024 NFL Draft as of right now. With so few picks in a talented draft, it might seem reasonable to move down to increase draft capital. What would happen, though, if General Manager Ryan Poles took a different approach and shocked the NFL World?
The Chicago Bears Could Make An Absurd Draft Day Selection
Trade Up And Draft Another Generational Prospect, That Is The Chicago Bears Draft Plan
Caleb Williams will probably be selected by the Bears with the first overall pick. Williams is compared to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and is considered a “generational prospect” by many. However, there is another player in the 2024 NFL Draft who has been dubbed a “generational prospect.” That player is Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. Many consider him to be one of the most exciting wideout prospects in living memory. The Bears have the option to trade up and choose Harrison Jr. by using their ninth pick and additional draft assets. Although it appears improbable at first, there is a real possibility that this will happen.
