On Friday, Anthony Davis led the host Los Angeles Lakers to a 101-94 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers with 23 points, 19 rebounds, and four blocked shots.

LeBron James contributed eight rebounds, six assists, and twenty points. With 2:11 left, James made a 3-pointer to give the Lakers a 96-87 advantage.

With 14 points apiece from D’Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, and Austin Reaves and 11 from Spencer Dinwiddie, the Lakers (38-32) won their second straight game.

Tyrese Maxey scored 27 points to lead the Sixers (38-32) while Kelly Oubre Jr. chipped in with 19. Harri Tobias

 

In the first quarter, Russell set the Lakers’ single-season record for most made 3-pointers. Russell went 4 of 10 from long distance on the night, finishing with 187 treys in 2023-24. He topped the mark of 183 set by Nick Van Exel in 1994-95.

The Sixers trailed before Harris scored five straight to equalize at 43 with 3:05 left in the second quarter.

Russell dropped in a 3-pointer from the wing with 2:35 remaining in the half as the Lakers went back ahead 46-43.

The Sixers held a 52-50 advantage at halftime thanks to 13 points from Oubre and 12 from Harris.
