News Now : Tyrese Maxey of the 76ers Gets Excellent Defense From Cam Reddish…read more.

Since returning from the All-Star break, the Los Angeles Lakers have been negatively impacted by injuries to important defensive players, including Cam Reddish. Los Angeles’ offense is on the rise, but their defense has suffered from the absence of perimeter defenders like Reddish.

The 24-year-old made his comeback on Friday against Tyrese Maxey and the Philadelphia 76ers, having missed the previous four games. The primary goal of Philadelphia’s defensive strategy was to stop Maxey because they were without their MVP center, Joel Embiid.

Reddish’s return positioned him to guard Maxey, and he was a major contributor to his subpar shooting performance that evening. Reddish received some appreciation from head coach Maxey after he ended with 27 points on 10-for-26 from the field and 1-for-9 from 3-point range.

“It’s his specialty,” Ham remarked following Friday’s 101-94 victory. “Whether it’s on or off the ball, his stature, instincts, and stubbornness to be screened all come into play. His hands and feet are always moving, and he can still grow tall even if he is beneath a screen and attempts to rise up behind it. He moves his feet incredibly effectively and was able to stay in front without fouling. He looked really big to me.
