The 2023–24 NBA regular season has seen a number of remarkable collapses. With how careless certain teams can be on defense and how frequently teams are currently making 3-pointers, teams are never out of a game, no matter how big of a hole they are facing.

The Boston Celtics let up a 30-point lead over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night. It was the Milwaukee Bucks’ turn to lose a lead on Tuesday night. Milwaukee led the Los Angeles Lakers by as many as 19 points and had a 99.8 percent probability of winning, but they were unable to complete the victory.

It was a fantastic performance from the Lakers’ three key starters, as only four Lakers scored in double figures. Rui Hachimura added 16 points and

14 rebounds. The team led by Darvin Ham was behind 16 points at the end of the first quarter and was unable to cut that deficit by halftime.

However, they came back and used a 16-2 run in the fourth quarter to keep the game within reach despite trailing by 19 points in the last quarter. With 3:26 left, the Lakers were down by double digits once more, 101-91, but they rallied to tie the game at 101 and force overtime. The Lakers won 128-124 on the opening leg of a crucial six-game road trip during the last stretch of the regular season, even though it required two overtimes for them to overturn the deficit permanently.
