One of Tennessee’s top in-state targets, four-star wide receiver Radarious Jackson, returned to Knoxville to witness the Vols’ practice on Saturday.
Radarious Jackson has emerged as one of Tennessee’s top recruits after receiving a scholarship offer over six months ago. He returned to Knoxville this weekend for the first time in nearly five months, but he has no intention of waiting that long to return.
The four-star Class of 2025 wide receiver from Sheffield High School in Memphis, Tenn., got a better look at the Vols on Saturday during his visit for their final weekend practice before next week’s spring-ending Orange and White Game. Tennessee made a positive impact on him while he was on campus, and he stated the Vols are now planning to host him for an official visit the weekend of June 21.
TUSCALOOSA, Alabama – Ole Miss softball struggled in the first inning and lost 5-1 to No. 14 Alabama in game two of the series on Saturday.
The Rebels (21-17, 3-11 SEC) lost the series to the Crimson Tide (28-8, 5-6 SEC). Four first-inning runs were the difference, giving Alabama an early lead. Both teams had six hits, but Ole Miss struggled to combine them with runners on base.
Ole Miss threatened in each of the first two innings but failed to capitalize, leaving two runners on base.
In the first inning, Alabama loaded the bases with back-to-back singles and a hit batter, and a bloop single scored the game’s first run. The Tide scored two more runs on a throwing mistake, forcing Makenna Kliethermes to leave the game early. Brianna Lopez took over in the circle, giving up one run but getting out of the jam.
Alabama added another run in the second to extend the lead to 5-0, but Lopez and the defense held strong. She retired 13 of the next 16 batters, halting the Tide offense.
Ole Miss scored in the top of the fourth quarter. Paige Smith started the inning with a single, and with two outs, Angelina DeLeon singled back.
