Irving, Texas – The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced on Wednesday that eight Tennessee Volunteers have been named to the NFF Hampshire Honor Society for 2024. Charles Campbell, McCallan Castles, Dayne Davis, Gabe Jeudy-Lally, Ollie Lane, Keenan Pili, Javontez Spraggins, and Jacob Warren represented UT among the record 1,988 players from 339 institutions who qualified for membership in 2024.

Members of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society must be nominated by their individual schools.
A senior player who will graduate this spring/summer and recently finished his final year of playing eligibility in 2023; or
A graduated player, who has been out of high school for at least three years;

Applicants must have a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 (4.0 scale) and have been starters or contributors during the 2023 season.

Tennessee’s eight NFF Hampshire Honor Society members in 2024 broke the program’s previous record of three individuals recognized in 2018 and 2008. Since its creation in 2007, the NFF Hampshire Honor Society has recognized 26 Volunteers, with Warren becoming the only Vol to win the honor twice in his career.

The NFF Hampshire Honor Society builds on the NFF’s National Scholar-Athlete program by significantly increasing the number of scholar-athletes the NFF can honor each year. The program improves the organization’s leadership position in fostering academic excellence among student-athletes at the 772 colleges and institutions that have football programs around the country.

Campbell joined the Vols as a graduate transfer and served as the team’s starting placekicker last autumn. The Jackson, Tennessee native was a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award and had a sixth-year, redshirt-senior season in which he made 18-of-23 (78.3 percent) field goal attempts and connected on all 49 PATs. He received his undergraduate degree in finance from Indiana’s Kelley School of Business in December 2022 and is working toward his MBA at UT’s Haslam College of Business.

During his one-year stint at Rocky Top in 2023, Castles established himself as one of the SEC’s most versatile tight ends. The graduate transfer played in all 13 games, totaling 22 receptions for 283 yards and five touchdowns.

most by a Vol tight end since Mychal Rivera logged five in 2012. Castles received his master’s degree from Tennessee in December 2023 before playing in the Citrus Bowl win over Iowa.

Davis, a four-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member, will begin his sixth season at Tennessee in 2024. He got his bachelor’s degree in supply chain management from the Haslam College of Business in May 2023. The offensive tackle from Bluff City, Tennessee, played 319 snaps in 2023 and allowed just two sacks.

Jeudy-Lally finished his final season of eligibility with the Vols in 2023 as a solid cornerback, appearing in all 13 games and starting the last 11 games. He finished fifth on the team in tackles with 41 and had four TFLs, one sack, one interception, and five pass breakups. The Austin, Texas native was a 2023 CSC Academic All-District honoree and SEC Academic.

Lane, a local product and five-time SEC Honor Roll member, finished his sixth and final season with the Vols in 2023 as a dynamic offensive lineman. The Knoxville native started the first four games of the season at center before concluding the season at left guard, recording a career-high 775 snaps while allowing only two sacks. Lane is a two-time University of Tennessee graduate, having gotten his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology in May 2021 and his master’s degree in management and human resources in December 2022.

Pili, a member of the Tennessee football leadership council, will enter his seventh and final season of college football this autumn after obtaining an extension of eligibility request from the NCAA last

year. The veteran linebacker from Las Vegas has played in 37 career games and made his first appearance for the Vols in the 2023 season opener vs. Virginia on Sept. 2. He earned his exercise science degree from BYU in December 2022.
