Following a competitive doubles match between Tennessee (17-6, 9-4 SEC) and Vanderbilt (11-9, 6-7 SEC), Tennessee took the first point. Holly Staff and Anessa Lee, placed 83rd, were defeated 6-2 by Esther Adeshina and Alana Wolfberg, ranked 79. Bridget Stammel and Amy Stevens defeated Lauren Anzalotta and Catherine Aulia on court three, 5-7. On court one, the doubles point was decided in a close match. Tennessee led 1-0 when Sofia Cabezas and Elza Tomase, rated No. 15, defeated Celia-Belle Mohr and Anessa Lee, ranked No. 33, 7-5.
Doubles was difficult, Adeshina admitted. We had a difficult time with Vanderbilt, but we persevered. After that, we knew we had a shot at every position in the singles.
