Breaking News: Christian Wood is back to face Game 3 Lakers vs. Nuggets…see more

What the Lakers signing Christian Wood ...

In these postseason games against the Nuggets, the Lakers may have some reinforcements back to the frontcourt. After missing Game 2 of the season, Christian Wood is expected to play for the Lakers again in Game 3, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Just before the All-Star break on February 14, Wood made his Lakers debut.

When Wood was injured, he had already returned to the team’s starting lineup. Prior to his injury, Wood played in 14.1 minutes per game on average, scoring 6.1 points and pulling down 4.1 rebounds a game.

But Wood was injured for a while before it was revealed that he will have arthroscopic knee surgery in the middle of March. The attention that has been focused on Gabe Vincent and Jarred Vanderbilt’s comebacks has entirely overshadowed Wood’s rehabilitation progress.

Now, the questions will be whether or how he returns to the rotation. Since Wood last competed for the Lakers, a lot has happened. The group has established a reliable rotation in addition to an offensive rhythm.

They are a team that, nevertheless, desperately needs more size in the front court. With only Jaxson Hayes serving as Anthony Davis’s backup big man, Wood might offer more versatility and depth, which could assist the team’s rebounding problems from Game 1 against Denver.
