KNOXVILLE, Tennessee – Head coach of Tennessee women’s basketball Kim Caldwell declared on Wednesday that transfer Alyssa Latham has awarded her an SEC Grant-in-Aid (GIA) and an Institutional Financial Aid Agreement (IFAA).

The 6-foot-2 forward is a native of Glenwood, Illinois, and a graduate of Homewood-Flossmoor Community High School. He was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team in 2023–2024 while attending Syracuse University. Latham is the first player to sign with UT under first-year head coach Kim Caldwell. Latham will be a sophomore in 2024–2025.

“What a great opportunity it is to welcome an ACC All-Freshman Team member and one of the top first-year players in the country,” said Caldwell. “We’re thrilled she has three years left because she has a very bright future ahead of her.”

As a freshman, Latham played in 32 games for Syracuse, starting 26 of them. She contributed to her former team’s 24-8 overall record, 13-5 ACC record (tied for second place), and NCAA Second Round appearance. She shot 46 percent from the floor during the season and averaged 8.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, ranking first and fourth on the team, respectively.

Throughout the 2023–24 season, Latham recorded 13 double-figure scoring performances, nine times grabbing 10 rebounds or more, and a team-high six double-doubles. She recorded double-doubles in her first two collegiate games, scoring 15/10 and 11/11 points and grabbing 11 rebounds against Lafayette and Central Connecticut State, respectively.

The rookie recorded season highs in points scored, rebounds, and minutes played on November 30 against Alabama, as she scored 23 points on 9 of 10 shots and pulled down 12 rebounds in 40 minutes on the field. Later, on December 31, in the ACC opener against Notre Dame, she tied her career high in rebounds with 12, and she also added 21 points in 32 minutes against the Irish.
