New York Mets Sweep Chicago Cubs to Win National League Pennant - WSJ

The Chicago Cubs have a great baseball history, despite their image as endearing losers over the years.

The Cubs have won three World Series, the most recent in 2016, despite their reputation. In addition, they own 17 National League pennants.

Some of the greatest players in baseball history have come from even those awful Cub teams. Banks, Maddux, Williams, and Sandberg, to mention a few, have all had a significant influence on this club’s history, which is still being written today.

Ten guys who really contributed to the success of the Cubs are being honored today. The top ten Chicago Cubs ever are listed below.
Kris Bryant, like Greg Maddux, hails from Las Vegas. He also had success with the Cubs, just like Maddux. He is the World Series winner, NL MVP, four-time All-Star, and the 2016 NL Rookie of the Year. He made baseball history by being the first player to win the Most Valuable Player, Rookie of the Year, Baseball America Minor League Player of the Year, and Golden Spikes Awards all in the same season. Furthermore, he made MLB history by being the sixth player to win MVP and Rookie of the Year in his first two seasons. Bryant has a batting average of.275, 183 home runs, and 535 RBIs in his career thus far.
