Local reporters following the Detroit Lions may still have a soft place for quarterback Jared Goff.
In response to questions from ESPN regarding the response to his remarks, Goff moderated his position after declaring on a recent podcast appearance that the local media “relishes in negativity” at times.
Goff stated, “There’s been a lot of positivity.” As things sometimes do, it might have become slightly warped. I was talking about the question that was posed to me during that news conference.
“I was responding to that query. Though I wouldn’t really know, I wasn’t suggesting there weren’t any good news stories; rather, they have seemed positive to me. I said that I didn’t think it was unique to Detroit and that occasionally, some people seemed to welcome the bad news.”
Goff said he ought to have been more precise rather than putting the media in Detroit as a whole under one negative heading.
The global media, sports media, especially NFL media, and the click-bait roller coaster weren’t necessarily exclusive to Detroit, according to Goff. “But, yeah, maybe I should’ve been a little more specific with that.”
Donation to a charity
At a pre-draft luncheon at The Detroit Club downtown, Detroit’s seasoned signal-caller gave two Lions fans Breitling watches as a gift through his association with Jared Jewelry.
The 29-year-old, who has a history of giving generously to charity causes in Detroit and Los Angeles, gave a $50,000 donation to Give Merit, a non-profit organization located in Detroit that uses its FATE program to increase the city’s high school graduation rate.
