On Monday, Alabama added strength to its secondary when Kameron Howard, a transfer from Charlotte, committed. During his first campaign, Howard played in 12 games, starting two of them, and recorded 38 tackles, one intercepted pass, and one breakup.

This spring, Howard becomes the third transfer to the Crimson Tide, following Iowa’s Kadyn Proctor, an offensive tackle, and Miami-Ohio’s Graham Nicholson, a kicker who won the Lou Groza Award. Tuesday is when the spring transfer window closes.

The gifted safety, who stands 5-foot-11 and weighs 189 pounds, will improve a crucial position for Alabama that was exposed after many players exited the NFL Draft and after head coach Nick Saban retired in January.
