The Vols will play the Florida Gators, an SEC opponent, in a three-game series at The Swamp from Thursday through Saturday. They have lost their last six games, having fallen to Lipscomb. Against the Gators, who presently hold sixth place in the SEC East, the Vols hope to get back on track. Florida enters the series having lost all four of its series in April, while Tennessee is coming off victories in six straight conference series. Florida has a poor record, but they have been successful when playing in Gainesville, with a 16-9 home record. Conversely, the Vols have only gone on nine road games this season, with a 5-4 record away from home.

In their most recent visit to Gainesville, Tennessee defeated the Gators, sweeping Florida in 2022. Chris Stamos, who entered the game with a 2.98 ERA for the season after pitching 2.2 scoreless innings in the Vols’ victory over Missouri on April 25, will start the series. Pitcher Pierce Coppola, a lefty with a 10.50 ERA in three games in 2024, is acquired by the Gators in exchange. At 7:00 p.m., the first pitch is scheduled to occur.
