The NCAA Baseball Tournament of 2024 is rapidly approaching. In actuality, it will start in just three weeks.
Regionals will start that Friday, May 31, and run through Monday, June 3. The selection show will take place on Monday, May 27 at 12 p.m. ET. The next weekend, from Friday, June 7, to Monday, June 10, Super Regionals will take place.
When the postseason kicks off, Tennessee will be hoping to make it to Omaha, Nebraska, for the third time in four years. The Men’s College World Series kicks off on Friday, June 14 and runs through June 22–23, with the three-game finals scheduled for June 24.
Since taking over the program, which had not advanced to the tournament since 2005, Tony Vitello has guided the Vols to four consecutive NCAA Tournaments and three consecutive Super Regional appearances. Only four teams nationwide—Virginia, Texas, and Tennessee—have participated in the College World Series in two of the previous three seasons (2021 & 2023). Tennessee is the only SEC club in this category.
In the Knoxville Regional—which is coupled with the Athens Regional—Tennessee would host No. 2-seeded Connecticut, No. 3 Virginia Tech, and No. 4 Niagara. Georgia, the No. 14 overall seed, would host. No. 2 Wake Forest, No. 3 Southern Miss, and No. 4 Austin Peay would all be hosted by the Bulldogs.
