To date, the Patriots have participated in four overseas games: two in Mexico City, one in London, and last season’s matchup with Indianapolis in Frankfurt, Germany. At Wembley Stadium in 2009, the Patriots defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 35-7. In 2012, the Patriots made a trip back to London and defeated the St. Louis Rams 45-7. The Patriots made their debut in 2017

On Thursday, September 19, the Patriots will play their first game at home versus an AFC East team, Thursday Night Football against the New York Jets. This Thursday Night matchup between the two AFC East rivals will be their sixth meeting overall and their first since the Patriots defeated the Eagles 27–25 at Gillette Stadium on October 16, 2014. On Thursday nights, the Patriots have a 4-1 record versus the Jets overall.

The Patriots will play one game each against the AFC South and NFC West teams in addition to two games against each of the other AFC East opponents. The Patriots, who were fourth in the AFC East in 2023, will take on the Los Angeles Chargers, who finished fourth in the AFC West.

This season, the Patriots will play seven of their seventeen games against 2023 playoff teams, including doubleheaders against Buffalo and Miami in addition to Houston, the Los Angeles Rams, and the San Francisco 49ers. The Patriots will also play four teams from 2023 that finished with winning seasons but did not qualify for the postseason. Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, and Seattle are those teams.

In 2024, the Patriots will also play three back-to-back road games: on September 19 against the New York Jets, on September 29 against San Francisco, on November 3 against Tennessee, on November 10 against Chicago, and on December 15 against Arizona, which will be followed by a trip to Buffalo on December 22.

On September 8, the Patriots play their season opener in Cincinnati.

Seven of the Patriots 17 games will be played against 2023 playoff teams this season, playing both Buffalo and Miami twice, along with Houston, the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers. In addition, the Patriots will face four teams that did not make the playoffs, but had winning records in 2023. Those teams are Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Jacksonville and Seattle.

The Patriots will also play back-to-back road games three times in 2024 with games at the New York Jets (Sept. 19) followed by a game at San Francisco (Sept. 29), at Tennessee (Nov. 3) then at Chicago (Nov. 10) and finally at Arizona (Dec. 15) followed by a trip to Buffalo (Dec. 22).

The Patriots will open the season at Cincinnati on Sept. 8 with a 1 p.m. ET kickoff. It will be the Patriots fourth time opening the season against the Bengals and the first since 2010 when the Patriots won, 38-24, at Gillette Stadium. The only other time the Patriots opened at Cincinnati was in 2001, a 23-17 Bengals victory.

When the Patriots visit the Seattle Seahawks on September 15, Week 2, Gillette Stadium will host head coach Jerod Mayo’s first regular season game. After that, the Patriots will play two straight road games: on Thursday night, they’ll visit the Jets, then on September 29, they’ll travel to the San Francisco 49ers, the current NFC Champions. The Patriots will be visiting Levi Stadium for the second time. On their first visit to the 49ers in 2016, the Patriots prevailed 30-17.
