Pickens headed the group, earwning two first-team All-America selections, as the flamethrower was selected to both D1Softball and Softball America’s top teams. While Milloy was named to the D1Softball second team, Gottshall was named to the second team by both publications.
Pickens, who was born in Weaverville, North Carolina, was one half of Tennessee’s formidable pitching duo. With a 22-7 record and an ERA of 1.12 at the end of the 2024 season, the sophomore solidified her position as one of the best pitchers in the country.
Pickens made 27 starts out of 38 appearances in the field, pitching 15 full games, 12 shutouts, and one save. The right-hander recorded 225 strikeouts in 188.1 innings pitched while limiting opposing batters to a.156 batting average.
Gottshall finished her collegiate career on Rocky Top, forming the second half of UT’s pitching machine. The native of Massillon, Ohio, finished 20-5 with a 1.37 ERA and contributed to the Lady Vols’ second consecutive SEC regular season championship.
In 2024, the graduate pitcher made 35 appearances in the mound, 20 of which were starts. Throughout the year, she pitched eight complete games, racked up three saves, and recorded three shutouts. With an opponent batting average of, Gottshall recorded 164 strikeouts in 147.2 innings pitched.
In her final season wearing the Orange & White, Milloy started 53 games and became Tennessee’s all-time leader in home runs, runs scored, and total bases. She was a pillar at the top of the lineup, scoring 64 runs and batting.347 to lead UT.
