The reigning AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year is staying in The Bay for the foreseeable future. McCaffrey came to the 49ers via a 2022 mid-season trade and his impact on San Francisco’s offense was immediate. The team closed out the year as a top-two offense in yards per game (398.4) and top three in points per game (28.9), and McCaffrey was once again one of the workhorses behind the offensive success. During his OPOY campaign, he led the NFL in rushing yards (1,459) and yards from scrimmage (2,023) while finishing tied for the most total touchdowns (21).

While no NFL team remains the same from season to season, the San Francisco 49ers were able to carry over most of their veteran group from Super Bowl LVIII into the following one. Linebacker Fred Warner, one of three players in the NFL to receive unanimous All-Pro recognition in 2023 after accumulating 132 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, 11 passes defensed, and four interceptions, is among the returning experienced playmakers. In addition, he recorded 600+ more defensive snaps than the linebacker with the No. 1-overall grade, and received the second-highest defensive grade of 90.0 from Pro Football Focus out of all linebackers.
