The first two former Wisconsin volleyball players to ever qualify for the Olympics…see more
Legends from the University of Wisconsin volleyball program will be traveling together to Paris after being chosen as Olympians, a first for the Badgers program.

On Wednesday, Lauren Carlini and Dana Rettke were chosen for the women’s national volleyball team of Team USA. They were on the court together when Team USA defeated Germany in four sets to earn a spot in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The match took place in Lodz, Poland.
Carlini was a four-time All-American setter with the Badgers who helped lead them to national runner up in 2013. She helped the national team qualify for the 2020 Games but was left off the roster when it was time to go to Tokyo.
“Is it a huge roster? Of course it is. It’s the Olympics, we all want to make it,” Carlini told BadgerExtra in October. “But I’m at that point in my career and my life where if that’s not how the cards fall, it is what it is and I’ve had a great career nonetheless. Am I going to do everything in my power to make that roster? Of course.”
